Ama Dogbefou is a psychosocial counselor originally from Togo who migrated to Canada in 2017. In 2020, she started her educational journey at NorQuest. Despite language barriers, she persevered and is now pursuing social work, and she appreciates the support from NorQuest. Ama is dedicated to promoting unity and inclusion in her community. Ama is fully engaged in the Francophone community and extends support to her fellow immigrants.
Ama hopes to represent students on the Board of Governors since she is well-equipped to do so, having initiated and led Zumba classes, volunteered, and received the "Patsy Price Training Award." She joined the Women's Coalition of Alberta in 2018 and became an honorary member in 2021. Ama serves as a board administrator, and her responsibility, initiative, and team-building skills are qualities that lead to cooperative success. Ama's personal life is no less demanding than her academic and volunteer commitments, as she is also an attentive mother to three children.
