June Parham has been a NorQuest College instructor since April 2001. She currently teaches in the Health Care Aide program in the Faculty of Health Studies. June has worked with regional, online and fulltime Health Care Aide program deliveries. Her previous roles at NorQuest College include Clinical Placement Instructor where she developed and maintained valuable relationships with workplace in learning clinical partners and instructor in the Practical Nurse Program. June participated in developing a return to practice course for practical nurse students to assist students to be successful in practicum courses. She partnered with MacEwan University, University of Alberta, NAIT, Alberta Health Services and Covenant Health to develop a Preceptor Workshop, offered in person several times a year. June has worked with colleagues from other areas of the college to deliver presentations at educational conferences in Alberta.
June grew up in northern Alberta and has a Registered Nursing diploma from Red Deer College (Polytechnic) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alberta. She worked in hospitals in northern and central Alberta and spent 12 years as a travelling nurse throughout the United States. Her vast nursing experience in health care facilities from small rural hospitals to large university centres in both Canada and the US exposed her to many cultures and practices. These experiences have helped her to better facilitate learning for NorQuest’s multicultural student population.
June loves to travel and is a Francophile who is tireless in her attempt to learn French. She can be seen at Edmonton music festivals and Fringe shows every summer.
