NorQuest College selected to conduct a Curriculum Gap Audit through the Young Africa's Works in Kenya TVET Project

The initiative will run for five years through a partnership between Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) and the Mastercard Foundation.  

As the lead and with support from Canadian partners, Seneca College and College of the Rockies, NorQuest College’s curriculum gap audit will help to identify new levels and content needed for programming in Kenya’s Big Four (manufacturing, food security and nutrition, universal health coverage, and affordable housing) and digital sectors.

Additionally, NorQuest College in partnership with Humber College and Red River College will develop Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) guidelines and tools to support increased recruitment and transition of youth to secure employment.

All of these efforts will lead to an increase in the participation of young Kenyans, and women in particular, in workforce-relevant skills training programs that will result in dignified and fulfilling employment.

In Kenya, NorQuest College will be working closely with the Ministry of Education, the TVET Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (TVET – CDACC), and the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA).

This milestone is NorQuest College’s inception of implementing projects in Kenya.
