EDMONTON – In a virtual ceremony held on May 5, Carolyn Campbell was officially installed as President and CEO of NorQuest College.
During her installation address, Campbell detailed her vision for the college, NorQuest’s central role in the community and economy, as well as the importance of the institution’s Indigenization efforts and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
“NorQuest’s legacy, clarity of purpose, and exciting strategic direction position the college for leadership in our sector, and in the next wave of the growth of Alberta,” said Carolyn Campbell, President and CEO of NorQuest College. “We remain committed to delivering education that serves the community of students, residents, institutions, and business as our region’s comprehensive community college.”
“By working together, we will fundamentally disrupt the world of higher education for the greater social and economic good of Alberta, and our people,” added Campbell.
COVID-19 protocols in place
Campbell’s installation featured virtual addresses from various dignitaries including Her Honour Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, and members of the NorQuest Board of Governors.
The program also included several video congratulations and best wishes from elected officials, NorQuest students, faculty, and staff, and friends and family, all livestreamed to accommodate enhanced COVID-19 restrictions. In-person attendance was restricted, and all other provincial health protocols and guidelines were followed in order to limit the risk posed by the pandemic.
