NorQuest received the designation in part because of its flexible work options, exceptional health and wellness programing, and thoughtful, compassionate support of employees during unexpected challenges.
“There are so many reasons why people say NorQuest is a wonderful place to work,” says Carolyn Campbell, President and CEO of NorQuest College. “It is truly an honour to receive this designation. The award further validates the hard work of NorQuest employees to develop our culture, and confirms that employees should feel proud of the remarkable steps we’ve taken as an organization.”
NorQuest was lauded for its variety of flexible work options and up to 10 paid personal days which can be scheduled throughout the year, wellness-related programming and resources to help employees prioritize their health and well-being, including annual health clinic assessments, and compassionate leave top-up for those called upon to care for a loved one.
First published in 2006, Alberta's Top Employers is a special designation that recognizes Alberta employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs. The annual competition is open to any employer with its head office in Alberta; employers of any size may apply, whether private or public sector.
The list of 2021 winners is featured today in a special announcement magazine published in the Calgary Herald, Edmonton Journal, and on Eluta.ca.
