On October 10, NorQuest College formally launched its new Insurance Professional program, developed in partnership with Alberta-based insurance firms. The certificate will ensure learners from diverse backgrounds will be equipped with the core insurance industry knowledge and necessary workplace skills to launch outstanding careers.
The launch event brought together insurance companies, industry associations, community organizations, and government representation to recognize the collaboration in building this new post-secondary pathway to careers in insurance.
At the launch event, Carolyn Campbell, NorQuest President and CEO thanked insurers Lloyd Sadd, Northbridge, Wawanesa, ARC Insurance, and CJ Campbell for their collective donation of $150,000 over three years to help make the program more accessible and affordable for learners. CEO of Lloyd Sadd, Chris Huebner, stated he was so confident in the success of this program that he was providing the Lloyd Sadd 3-year donation commitment upfront.
A new $1,000 award was also announced at the event in memory of Darin Oakford, a beloved member of the CJ Campbell team who sadly passed away in early 2023.
Several attendees commented about their anticipation of getting this program off the ground and the opportunities it opens to new recruits.
The possibility of this program becoming a long-term Norquest program is exciting to consider for the future of this industry.
