At NorQuest, we offer a variety of activities and workshops for international students to learn more about Canadian culture, academics, and the job market. Students will also have opportunities to meet new people and make connections with other staff and students.
Global Café
First Tuesday of every month at 12:00 pm
Connect with students from different parts of the world and learn about their unique cultures. You can present your cultural heritage through musical performances, dance, games, and presentations.
These events may also include cultural cuisines and food/tasting options!

Jumpstart Program
Join our Jumpstart Program sessions to get guidance from many departments across the college, including NorQuest International, The Learner Centre, Career Centre, Students’ Association, as well as NorQuest teachers and experts. All international students are welcome!
- Expectations vs. Reality: learn how to prepare yourself in a Canadian classroom; Wednesday, January 3, 12:45 – 2:00 pm
- Academic skills and writing: learn about academic writing and how to approach assignments; Thursday, January 11, 3:45 – 5:00 pm
- Learner Centre (library and tutors): learn how to get help with your assignments and other academic supports.; Wednesday, January 17, 12:45 – 2:00 pm
- Career Readiness: learn how to prepare yourself to be successful in the new job market.; Thursday, January 25, 3:45 – 5:00 pm
- Immigration, OSJA, SANQC: learn how immigration is connected to your academic success.; Tuesday, January 30, 12:45 – 2:00 pm
- Living and Learning in Canada + Getting Involved at NorQuest and Beyond: learn how to successfully adapt to a new culture and find ways to get involved in the community.; Thursday, February 8, 3:45 – 5:00 pm
