This course examines correctional systems in Canadian society, including the history of corrections, the role of corrections in contemporary society, and the interrelationship between the various correctional components (including community-based corrections, correctional institutions, and parole). Emphasis will be placed on the formal and informal relationships that exist in correctional organizations and the relationships between staff and inmates in correctional facilities.Note: Prerequisites: JUST 1101, JUST 1102
