This course provides students with a foundation for practice in working with youth. Students will consider ethical practice, codes of conduct, and the role of the youth worker in light of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and other human rights legislation. Students will focus on various contexts and scenarios related to youth-work practice and examine the scope of a youth justice worker with an emphasis on professionalism, discretion, and problem-solving skills. Students will also evaluate work-related stressors and effective self-care techniques.Note: Prerequisite JUST 1101, JUST 1102
