What to expect from the program
This is an online program taught in real-time with instructors skilled in leadership and management with practical organizational experience. Self-paced activities complement the virtual lectures and include simulations, on-the-job scenarios, and relevant reading assignments. The program concludes with a capstone presentation that incorporates concepts from one of the badges.
Everything was extremely well organized: the materials were posted in advance, all presenters used current research information, all sessions started on time, assignment explained at the beginning of the sessions. Who should take this program
Managerial Excellence is suited for current leaders and supervisors looking to elevate their managerial skills. It is also suited for new and emerging leaders who are in entry-level and mid-level supervisory or management roles. The program combines learners from different industries and positions, providing you with the opportunity to understand business and leadership challenges from diverse perspectives.
What you’ll learn
The program is designed to be highly focused and interactive so that you will develop strategic management and leadership skills within three areas (badges):
Managerial Leadership: Understand key insights into your unique leadership style and identify personal development opportunities for you as a leader. Topics include personal leadership style, personal brand, design thinking, emotional intelligence, and agile leadership.
Inspiring Teams: Gain support frameworks and coaching skills to build an engaged workplace across the culture of your organization, team, or project. Topics include effective communication, coaching, social impact, talent and culture development.
Organizational Management: Learn new tools and ways of thinking to make better tactical and strategic decisions within your organization. Topics include organizational governance, financial acumen, risk management, digital transformation, and trends for the future
Not ready to enroll in the full microcredential program? You can complete one of the badges listed above or a single course within the badge. Each badge or course will be applied towards the microcredential program, if you choose to complete it at a later time.

Managerial Excellence is eligible for the Canada Alberta Job Grant, a training support program where an employer applies on behalf of their present or future employees for eligible training costs.
