The Little Angels of Hope Playground

Nature is a child's best playmate and playground. Its community of plants and creatures is constant; the hours, the days, and the seasons are ever-changing and flowing. For a child, each day offers up new adventures.

Edmonton's native aspen parkland biome inspired and informed the design programming: a natural playground set into a wild-grow garden of primarily indigenous plants, populated by both people and pollinators, with food sources for both.

In its downtown setting, The Little Angels of Hope Playground deeply connects young urban children with nature. It is a sensory-rich environment in which, through spontaneous and self-directing play, each child can explore their world and discover and reveal themselves.

The vision of the Intercultural Child & Family Centre is “excellence in child care.” The Little Angels of Hope Playground prepares each child for a richly imagined life.
