We work directly with students who are experiencing violence. During our conversations, you are in full control of what is discussed and what happens next.

You decide the support you receive
We provide a pressure-free environment where you can decide which support services you’d like to receive. We also work closely with other areas of the college to provide holistic support if you decide that’s right for you.
Our process
Getting support is a simple, five-step process that is centered around what you need in the moment and beyond.
Step 1: Connecting
You can connect with a VPS advisor by using the online booking form, calling 780.644.6306, or emailing consent@norquest.ca.
Step 2: Meeting
A VPS advisor will reach out and find a time to meet with you. Meetings can be done in person, online (through Microsoft Teams), or by phone.
Step 3: Discussion
During our conversation, you are free to share as much or as little as you want—you are in full control. The VPS advisor is here to support you.
Step 4: Next steps
You have options for how you want to proceed after disclosing your experience—it's completely your choice. Options include:
- Referral to a mental health professional (either on or off campus)
- Proceeding with a formal complaint through the Office of Judicial Affairs
- Proceeding with a criminal complaint through the justice system
- Nothing! If you’re not comfortable making a decision, that is completely okay
Step 5: Ongoing support
The VPS advisor can give you more information on any of the options you might want to take and can be there to support you if your change your mind. You can always come back.
