Digital Asset Management - CanTech! - XBUS 1570

This course on Digital Asset Management (DAM) is timely and highly relevant. Digital assets span a wide area, from images to PDF files to video. Participants will learn about importance of organizing digital assets in a way that is not only searchable but offers value to organizations. Over a series of carefully designed lectures and labs, learners will develop a myriad of skills, from typing to tagging. A focus of the course is on metadata, from entry to retrieval. Key concepts are reinforced through the discovery of DAM terminology, and applied immediately in class through interactive exercises. A course-wide workplace simulation gives learners authentic, real-life experience as they build their knowledge and skills. Through active participation in engaging and well-paced lectures, and “hands on” lab work, by working with peers and guided by experienced instructors and high-caliber materials, learners engage in both group and individual work, fostering workplace readiness.
