GED Exam - GEDT 1000

The General Educational Development Test (GEDT) is a two-day exam made up of five subject areas:
- Mathematics (90 minutes, multiple-choice): Number operations and number sense, Geometry and measurement, Data analysis, Statistics and probability, Algebra, functions, and patterns
- Language Arts, Reading (65 minute, multiple-choice): Poetry, drama, prose, Visual and Performing Arts Review, Workplace and community Documents
- Language Arts, Writing exam (120 minutes total, essay writing and multiple-choice): Organization, Sentence structure, Usage, Mechanics,
- Social Studies (70 minutes, multiple-choice): History, Geography, Civics and government, Economics
- Sciences (80 minutes, multiple-choice): Physics and Chemistry, Life science, Earth and Space science

Additional information

All testing is required to be completed in-person.

Preparing for the GED exam

If you think you may not be ready to write the GED exam, you can sign up for one of our GED Prep courses GED Prep (GEDP 1000) or GEDP 1521. Contact us for further information.
Individual GED subject exams are available upon request. If you do not need to complete the entire two-day exam and only need to complete a specific subject exam, please contact us.
Upon registration in the GED exam, your instructor will contact you with the time and location of your exam
